Category Computer Architecture

Computer Architecture

The combination of issues related to design of computer hardware architecture and organization, notably computer instruction sets.

General issues:

Example architectures:

CDC Cyber 170, 180, 200, 205 (Cdc Cyber).

IBM System/360 (Ibm System Three Sixty).

It's possible that Category Hardware would be better placed here, unless its creator also intended to provide a category broad enough to discuss peripheral and communications hardware, too.

For discussion of computer software architecture "and the many squabbles involved" (so wrote the category's creator), see the broadly named Category Architecture. Its creator might wish to ponder whether Category Software Architecture would be a less ambiguous and more appropriate name.
